Frequently Asked Questions

Below you’ll find answers to our most commonly asked questions. If you have a question not listed here, feel free to reach out to help@meetfide.com and we’ll get back to you ASAP.

  • Fide is pretty simple, when you think about it.

First, you verify your identity with a selfie and a pic of your driver’s license. Our AI matches the two to make sure every user is who they say they are.

Once you’re verified, you’re free to make plans with other users. Just look them up by username the same way you would on Instagram, send them a plan, and when they confirm, a digital record is created for the meeting.

The meeting stays totally private unless you need us to unlock it, in which case we can share that info with the proper authorities to help ASAP.

But it’s our strong belief that Fide will act primarily as a deterrent, letting you focus on what matters.

  • Very. All your data is handled with the strictest safeguards, with the same security as KYC (Know Your Customer) and Anti-Money Laundering initiatives by banks.

We will only unlock it in the event of an emergency.

  • Well, let us ask you a question back — if you were a criminal, would you want your driver’s license and a record of your meeting on file? 🤔

  • Nope, Fide is designed for all kinds of meetings — study sessions, meeting a new business connection, buying & selling on Craigslist… The list goes on.

Any time you want to be sure the person you’re meeting is who they say they are, and that they’ll know ahead of time that their details are on the record, Fide has your back.

  • Well, there were a lot of factors that went into the decision to make Fide, but the main one was a strong belief that women shouldn’t have to worry about the safety of a date.

Sharing locations with friends, checking in via text, etc. were all imperfect solutions to an unfortunately widespread problem — not to mention, they don’t prevent anything from happening.

It’s our hope that Fide will allow users to have peace of mind like never before.

  • Unfortunately, it costs us money to run Fide, so while we would love to offer the service free of charge, we can’t quite yet.

However, if you’re a college student, we would love to bring Fide to your university at no cost to the students. We highly recommend you reach out to your Title IX or Student Life Coordinator to request a Fide partnership.

  • Nothing. We’re not Google or Meta; we don’t want to know the details of your personal life beyond what’s going to keep people safe, and we don’t want to use it to sell you stuff.

We charge a modest fee so that we don’t have to sell your data to advertisers to stay afloat.

There’s a possibility that, in the future, we utilize anonymous data to help organizations allocate resources better (for example, to help police decide which areas need more patrol cars), but this has not yet been implemented.

  • Yup. Find all the details you might need on our media page, or drop us a line at media@meetfide.com.

We can’t wait to hear from you!
